Controversial Rule at OHS
At our fine school a rule that bugs the student body and myself, is the hat policy. I understand no hats in class, as that can be distracting, but outside of class hats are fine, helpful even. The bill can keep the sun out of your eyes and the hat can keep your head from being burned. People bring hats to school despite the rule. But they do not actually wear them, the new 'thing' is to attach it to your belt loop. How this is even convenient is beyond me. Even more mind-boggling is the rule that students may only wear 'Official Olympian' hats. The hats are cool and all, do not get me wrong, but a hat is a hat is a hat. I understand wearing the OHS hats to sporting events to show school spirit and just having these hats available is awesome. But, if the school rule is no hats then there should be NO hats. If the hats are for school spirit then what would be wrong with College hats? It is still supporting educational purposes.
