I think that the policy of no iPods in classrooms is somewhat unfair. I agree that during class the students should not use iPods or other electronic devices, but after a test or quiz I think it would be alright for students to use devices to listen to music, but not to text or something like that.
Sometimes students concentrate better with music, and that is because there are noises all around them and they get distracted with them and with the music they can block the noises a little and concentrate better.
I would modify the policy by saying allowing students to use iPods in classrooms when the teachers say they can use them.
