Controversial rule- gum policey

"SATURDAY SCHOOL, NO CHEWING GUM!" those are the words we hear everyday at school. Almost every person at school chews gum and only half the students get caught. Many schools do not allow gum due to the fact that people leave it under the desk or spit it out on to the cement, which in time leaves a black mark. Gum should be allowed at school because gum actually does help students pay more attention because it eases tension among students. Research has shown that chewing gum actually helps boost test scores since it keeps us alert. Even though the school policy says to not chew gum students still do anyway so basically there is no point in enforcing the rule if students still chew gum.
