Plagiarism

Plagiarism is a serious issue that should not be taken lightly because of the major consequences that are enforced to discourage plagiarism, through a whole student's academic career. It is not acceptable to plagiarize because of the need for students to use their own "voice" to establish their own opinion and not of any other, which includes the internet, books, or other fellow students. If and when a student plagiarizes, he or she is implying that there is no pride in their work nor is there an understanding of the given concept. Furthermore it represents the students laziness for not contributing their own words to what is asked of them. As a student progresses in their academic career, the consequences for plagairizing increases; in high school that may include an F as a citizenship grade and a zero for the assignment that was plagiarized, however in college or university it becomes a much more serious consequence-- expulsion. This route, if taken, is an easy way to end a student's academic career; thus, plagiarism is a prideless move that should be avoided at all costs.
