Hurricane Irene


Hurricane Irene struck the east coast just last week. in New York, one of the major cities it hit, the subway was shut down for the first time ever. Many homes are still without power. An estimated 7 billion dollars to 10 billion dollars of damage was left behind. More than 11,000 flights were cancelled. Flooding was reported in 10 states where the hurricane passed through. An estimated 42 deaths are reported. The hurricane also triggered 4 tornadoes. This Hurricane has been considered one of the most destructive.
