Hurricane Irene

Hurricane Irene was a category 3 storm with wind speeds up to 115 to 120 mph. The Hurricane has caused up to 7 billion to 13 billion dollars of damage and leaving almost 6 million homes and businesses without power. With us living in the west coast and not having to deal with a hurricane we dont know the fear that goes through them as we here are lucky not getting sweped by hurricanes. Since the 5.8 earthquake hit before the huricane they must have gone through a serious of damage. Hurricane Irene is actually bigger as in wider not stronger than Katrina. Now they have reported that a new hurricane named katia but is not going to touch land since it has been categorized as a tropical storm and is getting weaker.
