Plagiarism

Plagiarism is a serious issue not only in academics but as well as the media and music industry. An act of plagiarism in high school would give consequences of receiving a zero for the project, an F in citizenship, Saturday school and if plagiarism happens the third time, the student will be in automatic suspension. Unfortunately, these consequences of plagiarism are benign compared to the consequences if plagiarism is done in college. In colleges, a first offense of plagiarism can result an automatic suspension. Being suspended from a university is difficult because when applying in another university, they will know that you had plagiarized and this will be unacceptable in their university. Plagiarism in the music industry is even stricter. For instance, another musician can easily sue another musician for "plagiarizing" their music. Listeners can also easily identify similarities in a song. Plagiarizing in media can cause lawsuits and possibly getting under arrest. Plagiarism is a serious matter and is morally wrong because it is taking an individual's idea without getting credited for their work. It is basically stealing someone's mind. How would you feel if someone took credit, or possibly, high acclaims, for stealing your hard work and creative ideas?
