Blackout in SD
The blackout occurred at around 3 p.m and I was at my friends house getting ready to go to dance practice. Randomly, the fan shuts off and the TV shut off. Wondering what happened we still managed to drive to practice, but on the way there the street lights were all off which made traffic built up in all parts of San Diego. At practice there was no radio, so there was basically no point in being there. After we left, we spent about 2 hours driving around looking for a gas station with a generator, but failed and ended up hitting traffic. Finally when i got home my dad cooked rice and other food through the stove. We had to use flashlights while eating our food and taking a shower. After showering I was so bored and had nothing to do so i listened to the radio and danced a little bit. Life without electricity isn't necessarily that bad, but it was difficult. As people we all depend on electricity because that's what our society is based on. There were cars without gas, people figuring out what they were going to eat, and everyone having nothing do. Although it lasted for about 9 hours it taught me a lesson. To be grateful for the things I have an to also conserve not waste.
